Edgerton & Edgerton, Attorneys at Law is historically one of the oldest established small law firms in DuPage County. Edward J. Farrell founded the general practice firm bearing his name in West Chicago, Illinois in 1952. From the outset, he made personalized attention, honesty, respect, and affordability the foundation of client services.

In 1966, Illinois native Michael P. Edgerton joined the Farrell law firm as an associate. When he made Partner in 1972, the firm became Farrell & Edgerton. Skilled representation, tenacious advocacy, and word-of-mouth referrals by satisfied clients helped grow the business. Patricia L. Hatfield joined the firm as an associate in 1973, made Partner in 1978, and remained for 25 years. The firm was renamed Farrell, Edgerton & Hatfield. Though founding Partner Edward J. Farrell passed away in 1979, the firm has continued to build on his legacy of honesty and diligence.

Patrick L. Edgerton joined the firm in 1996 and when he made partner two years later, Edgerton & Edgerton, Attorneys at Law, as it is known today, was established.  With its highly qualified support staff, the legal team of Edgerton & Edgerton continued to establish a statewide reputation for personalized service and tenacious advocacy for every client.

Michael Edgerton, a fixture in the law community over the years, is legendary in the DuPage County courts for his trademark cowboy hat and boots, and carrying saddlebags to the courthouse.
